Woman Drags Ex-lover To Court For Duping And Refusing To Marry Her

A 42 -year- old man who dumped a 49 -year-old lover and secretly went and married another woman has landed in prison custody after he failed to refund the money the ex -lover allegedly gave him to set up his business in Lagos State, western Nigeria .

He was charged before Isolo Magistrate 's court with obtaining under false pretence and remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri.

According to police , Gerald Onuimo allegedly defrauded his jilted lover , Christiana Ojukwu, by obtaining N450 , 000 from her under false pretence.

P .M . NEWS gathered that Onuimo met Ojukwu five years ago and he gave her false hope of marrying her, which prompted her to give him the money to invest in his business.

The incident happened at Fasehun Street in Ago Palace Way Okota , Lagos where they met and lived.

When Onuimo 's business eventually picked up , he secretly went and married another woman without Ojukwu's knowledge and later informed her that he had got married.

Jolted by his betrayal , Ojukwu asked Onuimo to refund the money she gave him to equip his shop in 2011 since he had breached their agreement.

Onuimo reportedly refused to refund the money and told her that he had offered her his services worth more than the amount over the years.

He also said there was no agreement between them that he would refund her money .

Ojukwu went to the police at Ago Palace Way and reported the matter and Onuimo was arrested and charged to court where he pleaded not guilty .

The presiding Magistrate , Mrs Joy Ugbomoiko , granted him bail in the sum of N 100 , 000 with one surety in like sum.

Onuimo was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail .

The matter was adjourned till 12 December , 2015.

When our reporter contacted Onuimo on why he breached their agreement , he said Ojukwu was far older than him and too fat, as such his family did not want her.

About 500 Nigerians deported from the United Kingdom arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Tuesday.

Some of the deportees told the BBC that they are not happy to come back home.

"One person told me that he was arrested by British police and was not allowed to even take his belongings before being deported," the BBC said in its report.

"A few of them who say they don't have relatives here are stranded in the airport," the report also said.

At Last: Thief Raping and Robbing Students in LAUTECH Caught (See Photo)

When students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso stormed major roads in the city to protest continued robbery attacks on their female hostel and raping the helpless ladies, they did not in their wildest dreams think that the said robbers could be among them.

The state Police Command recorded a breakthrough as they arrested three suspects who were alleged to have been involved in the ungodly act. While parading the suspects alongside other suspects, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Leye Oyebade said.

" A 400L male student of the Department of Transport, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso who belonged to a notorious criminal gang nicknamed 'Three Mopols' was arrested on 3rd November, 2015 in his criminal hideout by the special anti robbery squad in Oyo/Ogbomoso." Read HERE

The gang, according to him, was responsible for breaking into students hostels,stealing valuable property and sometimes raping their female colleagues.

His arrest and subsequent confession led to the arrest of two criminal receivers – Adeyemi Samuel Taiwo and Adeyemi Samson Kehinde who received some of the stolen items.

When a search was conducted in the house of Kayode Oluwaseyi, a HP laptop computer belonging to one of his victims and a toy gun used for robbery operations were recovered. Kayode Oluwaseyi also confessed to have burgled several houses and carried out many robbery operations in the Ogbomoso area.

When asked what led him into that shameful act, the suspect confessed that it was true he was involved in the constant raids but tried to exonerate his accomplices saying they were not among the gang but that they always bought the stolen goods from him.

11 Cult Members Arrested In Ajah Lagos During Initiation, 2 Policemen Sons Among Suspects (Photo)

11 young boys were arrested on Wednesday at a beach in Ajah area of Lagos during the initiation ceremony of new members into the Buccaneers cult group.

One of the suspects, 25-year-old Emmanuel Christoper said his father is a police inspector in Lagos while another suspect 20-year-old Ali Ikhide said his dad is a police sergeant currently serving in Cross River State.

Apart from the two, the other suspects are Jacob Obi, Sanusi Jide, Abiola Opeyemi, Innocent Okugbe, Baruwa Muyiwa, Imole Afolabi, Yusuf Akinsoya, and Aibor Idris.

According to the police, items recovered from the gang were: yellow cult caps, a banner showing the oath of allegiance to the Buccaneers cult group, charms, knives and machetes.

The cultists were apprehended around 3pm on Wednesday have been taken to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Ikeja Lagos.

Two explosions, believed to be from improvised explosive devices, have gone off in Kano, according to PREMIUM TIMES correspondent in the city is reporting.

"Explosions have gone off at Kano GSM market around farm centre," reporter Mohammed Ahmad said. "I'm rushing to the scene."

Details of the incident are still sketchy, our correspondent says.

The spokesperson of the Kano Command of the police could not be reached for comments.

A witness however said the first explosion occurred at the market entrance while the second device exploded near a pavilion in the centre of the market.

He said two vans filled with victims were driven away from the scenes of the explosion.

The incident came less than 24 hours after a similar explosion in a crowded park in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, left at least 34 people dead and 80 injured.

Today's blast is the first attack on Kano since July 6 when a female suicide bomber struck near a Mosque in the city, killing herself.

The teenage bomber had detonated the explosive at 9:30 p.m that day after she was prevented from accessing the Umar Bin Khatab mosque along Zaria Road. The incident happened just as faithful were dispersing after observing the late night (Tarawih) prayer.

According to the user who shared this on Facebook, the man hanged himself on a tree at Hassan Suleiman Primary School, opposite Roman Catholic Church, Drowa, Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.

He was said to have been battling with difficulties prior to his death.

Controversial SA Pastor Who Makes His Congregation Eat Snakes, Beaten + His Church Burnt Down (Photos)

Controversial South African pastor, Penuel Mnguni, of the End Time Disciples Ministries was beaten up by some angry South African youths in Mmakaunyane Village in the North Western part of South Africa last week Sunday November 15th. During the attack, the youths burnt down his church and tied him and a member of his church up with rope.

Penuel, who is known for engaging in strange practices such as asking his congregation to eat grass, strip naked and swallow live snakes, had been lying low for sometime after a mob led by South African vigilante group, the Economic Freedom Fighters, burnt his church at Soshanguve in Tshwane. He had tried setting up his church again inside a bush in Mmakaunyane community but was caught.

The tent of his church was burnt down by the angry youths while he and some of his church members were beaten and tied up. Police officers fortunately came to their rescue.

Resident Johanna Baloyi said the pastor and his congregation were not allowed in their area. "How can a person eat a rat and claim it tastes like chocolate? That's evil!" A church member who was protecting her pastor said they have the right to attend any church they wanted. She said the rats have healed and saved them from suffering.
